Do any of you knowledgeable Cortina engineers know anything about SU carbs on a pre-crossflow engine please ? We have a pair of 1.5inch SU's on a aluminium Aquaplane head which runs so rich it fouls the plugs. The engine is out to 1650cc. Can you suggest replacement needle sizes or other modifications please ? With thanks.

Not a case of the existing needles and choke tubes being worn as opposed to be unsuitable ? no joy by lowering the needle a fraction ?
