G'day all.

The time is soon coming for me to replace the stock suspension. It's getting on a bit in age, which makes the perfect excuse for upgrading.

What suspension mods has everyone done, and what brands of shocks/springs/etc. can you recommend? What price range for these lovely goods?

I'm thinking King springs, Koni shocks.. not sure about bushes etc. Ideas?

I put Pedders in my xr8 they are ok but not as firm as I expected not as firm as std.They would be o/k on a std Henry,thats my opinion, no bull.I'll go koni again??

I put Pedders heavy duty springs in (kept ride height the same), and Koni dampers.

Best money I ever spent on the car. Not too sure what the springs cost, but the dampers set me back about $1,100 not including fitting.

Alrighty. I went and spent an hour or so at the local suspension "specialist" and here's the results.

We went for a spin first off, so he could "feel" what was going on at the moment. Next, we got her up on the hoist to check her out from underneath, and take some measurements. (Hmm, I should probably rephrase that last bit.. ;-)). At the moment, the rear is sagging a fair bit. (Damn, I can't stop!). The front is ok, probably 1 or 2mm sag over stock height.

So now we knew what shape it was in, it was time he showed me the options. So basically, after a bit of hard talk, it came down to this:
*Monroe GT Gas or Koni shocks
*New springs lowered around 1" all round
*Super Pro camber adjusters
*Sway bar "tune"
*CWA ball
*wheel alignment
and also some maintenance stuff, replacing a few little things here & there.

For all this with the Monroes, the total was $1100. For the Konis, it went up to $1456.

Go for the Koni,You won't regret them.They don't go off as quick with age/use.
