Pretned for a minute, and this isn't much of a stretch, that I'm an idiot. Also pretend that I have a 67 289. During the summer, all withing a few weeks of each other I did my first mods to the engine. Edlebrock 650 4v carb, edlebrock IM, headers, dual flomasters, and full MSD ignition. And now, not to suprisingly, the car isnt running particularly good. I cant give it too much gas from a start or it stalls, and even one moving it feels less than spectacular. Definitly faster than it was, but not what I think it should be. And I'm confident the main thing holding me back is tunning, or rather my complete lack of atention to it.
But go back to the first assumtion I asked you to make, that I'm an idiot. How exactly does one go about tunning a car?

Ok, I don't have any answers, but I do have a direction. The carb needs to be tuned probabley and the ignition needs to be set (initial timing, timing curve, and total advance). now I don't know how to do these things on either the carb or the MSD. I am running a holley 650dp and an MSD drop in ready to run distributor. Anyone else got any info on this stuff? Sounds like you hit all the high points of upgrading and sounds like you got a pretty good matched package of stuff, now its a question of getting it to run right together!!

If you have no knowledge and/or no tools, you'd be better off having a professional "tune" your car. The alternative is to educate yourself through study of shop manuals or take a class on automotive maintenance. You have asked a question that would take far more information and detail than can be provided here. I wouldn't let an "idiot" tune my car; would you?

That definitly is a good point. I was hoping more than someone being able to explain it to me here, that someone knows a good website for the basics. I'll problem end up taking to a proesional, but I would still like to be able to talk iteligently about this stuff.
