I got a leak in my 96 taurus rad. I hear it,s a real bugger to remove.
Someone told me I have to remove the front bumper to get at it.
Anyone done this job???

Also I thought I would try some rad sealer, but I,ve been told not to
because it just gums up the passageways in the motor.
Any comments???

Yes, you have heard correctly; this is one for a radiator shop or service
garage; also right about stop leak- only use in extreme emergency

I don' ever recall removing the front bumper but it does come out the
bottom... not my choice for something I'd want to do lying on my back.

Chemical rad sealers are not a permanent repair, they are a stop-gap attempt
to get you temporarily out of a bind and should only be considered if we are
willing to endure aggressive flushing during the repair process (caustics
are generally used in this type of flushing and can lead to shortened
service life of other components. Since your car is ten years old, I would
suggest that, unless cooling system service schedules haven't been
religiously observed, agressive flushing is high on a list of things you
want to do.

IIRC only the contour and Focus rads come out the thru the bottom.

Don't see why your disappointed.... my last Taurus radiator was about a year
ago... and it does come out the bottom.
