Hello, I have a 93 E-150. It has power mirrors, but I have hit the mirrors on the side of my narrow garage one too many times and the power mirror feature no longer works. My passenger's side glass fell off. I ordered a new one. But before I put it on, I'd like to figure out how to secure the backing plate. It moves around on a swivel... up, down, in, out. It's been like this for a while. In the past I took weather stripping and lined the backing plate. It helped keep it from moving around, but eventually the weather stripping fell out. Is there a way to tighten this thing up? Also is it possible to take the backing plate off? It seems it would be easier to put the replacement glass on the backing plate if it were removed. But I can't figure out how it comes off. It doesn't seem to pop off like the ones on Youtube. Besides weather stripping around the edges what other ideas do you have to keep the plate from pivoting around.
