I need a vehicle I can tow behind a motor home for extended distances and would like a Bronco II. What models, transmissions, etc., can be towed this way?

I believe that the older models may be able to be towed that way - the 1987ish versions. It would have to be one that is standard shift and does not have the electronic transfer case. Best bet is to call your local dealer - I always went to my transmission tech with these questions. The most popular vehicle to tow behind a motorhome is a Jeep Wrangler. It's a less complicated 4X4 system and more reliable than the older Bronco II's.

Good Luck
towing Bronco II (or not)

My brother tows his S-10 Blazer behind his motor home. He he puts the automatic transmission into neutral as well as the transfer case and goes. He said I could do my 89 Bronco II the same way, but the transmission man that I paid my $1535.00 to said I couldn't. No, my brother did not help pay for the transmission rebuild. Don't do it!!!
I could in my old '84.....(shrug)
I just pulled my Bronco 500 miles ans all I had to do was put autotrans and transfer case in neutral, I had no problems.

Any Bronco II with a Manual T-Case can be towed with all wheels down. If you don't believe me ask these guyz http://broncoii.org/b2forum/index.php
