Interesting problem or problems here. The other week I was driving my Ranger around town and it started pulling to the right. I did notice that the power was lacking some. I was close to home so when I got it there the there was smoke coming from the right front fender area. So, I figured the pad or something got stuck. I let it cool down overnight and I have had no problems with it untill...wait for it...I'm 60 miles from home and the thing starts pulling to the right again. This gets better! I pull into a parking lot to look for and smell the smoke but I see none, but guess what I do see....transmission fluid coming from the bottom of the truck in the general area of the front end..it's pink so that's what I'm assuming it is. I have the truck towed to my local mechanic 60 miles away $$$$ and he drives it around town and guess....no pulling to the right, and no leaking fluid.
Last night I took it for a spin around town about 10 miles or so and used the brake quite a bit and it did start pulling to the right again. Interesting thing is I checked the tranmision fluid and it looks like it's over the normal mark..like theres too much in it. I should mention at this point I just got the truck back in April and my brother in law had it serviced at a Jiffy lube before I got it but that's been many miles before this problem showed up.

Has anybody ever experienced this???
Where on the transmission dipstick is the fluid normally at when its cold?
Could I have a brake problem and simply the transmission has too much fluid? Where is the transmission drain plug on the 94 Ranger XLT?

I know this is kinda long, but it is Friday at work and I'm waiting on quitting time.

I think you have this...................
A sticking caliper or collapsed brake line causing the vehicle to pull right, which in turn causes the overfilled transmission fluid to expand and start pumping out whereever it can.

There is no drain plug. I would drop the pan, new filter and gasket, and fill to normal "Cold" range on the cross-hatch area of the dipstick while it's running. And make sure you fix your brake concern :hy:
