G'day,
I currently own a 98 AU1 XR6 VCT. I am very interested in getting some real power out of it. I have added extractors, chip etc but am now keen to either turbo or supercharge the vehicle. They both seem fairly expensive ($7500 for a supercharger fitted). How much power can the stock driveline of an AU XR6 handle? Unfortunately my car is an automatic and i don't know if it can handle the power.

What give the better performance per dollar? Supercharging or Turbocharging? Would i be better offsaving my money and trading my car in on a new model manual XR8 at the end of next year?

Just remember a factory Turbo XR6 is just around the corner....

The car is fitted with an APS unichip, genie extractors, 2 1/2" exhaust, K&N airfilter and a bigger intake off the XR8. Its good for 148kw at the wheels. But still keen for more...
