I put 72 Mustang disc brakes on my 71 Ranchero without a power booster. It now takes both feet to stop. I am sure I need to change the proportioning valve. Has anyone already done this? What did you replace it with?

In a braking system, the master cylinder, calipers, and proportioning valve are all engineered to work with each other. If you only took the disc brakes (calipers and rotors), you probably have a set of calipers looking for the higher pressure of the booster. Before going nut trying to balance it out, I'd look to try to finish recreating what was in the mustang.
