Excerpt from Daily Telegraph 4/7/01:

"A cut price Holden is being released. The new model costs just $2,750 and the first service is for free. But it has only two wheels one seat and no engine."

The HSV/HRT Mountain Bike comes with Shimano 27-speed gears, disc brakes, alloy hubs and pedals.

Well fellow forum members:

Is this Holdens last ditch effort to secure the V8Supercar Championship?.

Will they be able to Homologate 500 before October to ensure they can run this new model at Bathurst?.

There is no mention of running a ford 9 inch diff in this new model!.

Will Mr Skaife ride it with or without the seat?.

However I am told it has plenty of HSV logos on it.

Nar Nar Nar Nar Nar Na Naar Nar Thunder!!!!

Interesting that. HSV are always saying how Tickford are copying them and the like, I wonder if BMW are going to claim like wise.:p

Somehow I doubt it!:D

I've seen the bike and it looks not bad but it has too many stickers on it.

Will Corsa release a version costing $500 more, which includes coloured coded hubs and handle-bar tassles?

Will the public find out about the internal document admitting two extra links were mistakenly added to the chain, causing problems at high pedal rotation, and that these links were NOT to be removed during the first free service?

How many owners will add the football-card mod to make the cycle note sound more appealing?

What will owners do when they find out the top 6 gears are all but useless, and it may as well have been a 21-speed?

I have one question.........
how are the owners going to wear their caps backwards???

looks like the governments helmet laws are going to rob them of an extra 20rwkw's. LOL

p.s. if they do decide to run them next season in the v8 series, does Skaife have an aerodynamic advantage over the field due to his huge nose?

It's open source to the Ford community. :D The Holden community may use it, but the license fees are very high. ;)

Hey even FTR have those underpants, but I don't know if they are high performance. More like a check the back first design:p

Na, I think It will be a dissadvantage. HSV will have to pay for his surgery, both on his nose and on his A***hole so he can actually sit on the seat and not fall right through...Lay off him for once John Crennan:D

p.s. If any holden executives are offended and are contemplating legal action then your only rubbing salt into the wound by admitting it.

That bike is bloddy awesome.
Get this, only a 100 bikes will be made, front and rear DISC brakes, 27 speed shimano gears, Front and rear suspension.
I'd buy the bike (after smashing the piggy bank:( ) take of the stickers, get rid of the HSV logo in the seat and you'd have one of the best bikes around. Why can't FTR/Tickford/FTE do anything like this??????????:(
I'll try find a pic of it....

I'd buy one except that it's missing a few things...

1. V8 motor
2. Gearbox
3. 4 doors
4. 5 seats

you get the drift... hehe.. :D

Bah

A point to be made here:

All Holden (HSV) have done is put their colours/decals on an existing bike (I'm not saying they're doing anything illegal, I'm sure they paid royalties). You can buy that bike (same frame, gearset, shocks etc etc) for $1000 under the Learsport brand name. (You can buy that bike under a few names actually. They all come out of the same factory in China, made by the same chinese children)

And it's nothing crash hot. It's a very cheap dual suspension bike... Nothing to rave about. But I'm sure Holden will sell the 100 bikes easy, as the Holden population are commonly known as stoopid ;)

But yeah, good PR move by Holden once again.

I would prefer Tickford to concentrate on selling cars than bloody bikes. Who in there right mind would waste close on $3,000 on a bike, unless they were professional and needed that type of equipment.

Hey Nipper I have noticed that your little pic is pretty much the same as mine, I would change mine but I am too lazy.;) :D

No argument at all with both sentences - but as Mcdonalds bring up a new generation of their burger munchers with their Mc Happy meals and blow up toys, so too is HSV trying to brainwash our precious youth to buy HSV when they get too old to pedal......although me thinks that they should keep the bike to put in the back of the Maloo, it will do more KAYS than the HSV ever will.......................:p :p :p ;)
