Can someone explain to me in idiot terms (for me) what effect a larger diameter tyre will have on my qtr mile times. What I think I know is that a larger diameter tyre will be harder to accelerate, but given that i have considerable torque I'm not sure if this will be a problem, and it will give me a faster ET at the end. Right or wrong? I'm running a 26" slick now and am considering a 28". Will this improve my times?

Taller tyre = taller gearing. Apart from the gearing it will also have a slightly larger contact patch as it is slightly longer due to the larger diameter.

Faster times, who knows? But usually you want a lower diff ratio on the strip compared with road use. Are you able to borrow a set of 28" tyres to suck it & see?

Also check to see they fit under the arches.
