I'm currently building a mild xlfow for my TE cortina.

I have a cracked cast iron head with valves in really good nick(The ones I want to use)

A really dirty c2a alloy head with alright valves

A clean as c2 head with valves that are all bung(This is the head i want to use)

The first two sets of valves interchange between heads but are too big in diameter to fit into the c2 head. I'm no that experienced with building engines, so can anyone tell me what to do??

Also, the engine is being built for dedicated lpg, so would I be best off just sending it off to a head shop and getting them to clean it up and put in new seats, bigger guides etc?? Or could I do this myself

I don't know, any suggestions much appreciated

Thanks,
Benno

Take gear and drop it into the machine shop , iron and lpg means adding hard seat.. you will get a great head and some parts back with a bill....

Agree with the above...

Bronze guides and hardened seats are mandatory with LPG, if you aren't using an alloy head these will have to be fitted. Its not a job for a back yarder, take it to a reputable machine shop in your area.
