Hey guys! Back again with my money pit

I can hear a really bad rattle around 3k rpms, but only under load. Also, if I accelerate PAINFULLY slow, the rattle never happens. Sitting in my garage I can rev as high as I want with out any issues. It sounds like the valve train, but I'm not sure.

I tried adjusting timing for kicks, but the rattle never changed.

Any ideas?? Thanks a ton.

Sounds like your timing is advanced too much. When engine is hot, does it seem like the battery almost dead when you try to start it?

What year/make of your Ford and engine size?

Sounds like detonation problems, check your ignition timing. Your slow acceleration may hold a much steadier vacuum pressure for vac advance if you run it, hence minimalising det probs.
