You do know that the XD type distributor has a different size on the bottom of the shaft where it fits the block?? The XD used a black engine block with the smaller shaft,up to XC used a larger shaft at the bottom and a blue type block..Might save you getting the wrong one.

Do know this. You can get the shaft modified to suit early clevelands.
Ford did this so you could not fit a points distributor into later motors
