i just baught a 91 ford tempo a couple of weeks ago for $700 bucks with only 77,000 miles. I thought I was a getting a deal but now it looks like the waterpump and several belts need to be replaced and the mechanic quoted me a minimum of $360. That's half of what I paid for the car, is it even worth it? Is there a cheaper alternative? Please help.

o there is and a $700 tempo with only 77 on it is stil strong. you can put sum miles on these cars! what year and displacemnt is yours?
changing out the water pump, thermostat are relatively easy on these cars if you can take the do it your self aproach. to change out all your possible belts the wp and thermostat maybe $60 out of your pocket.
if you cant do it your self or just need help we would be glad to help.
think of it this way, you cant sell the car that way for what you payed for it.
