Club Cruise-Sun 18th Jan

Hi Tez & members of the FPV & XR Car Club-SA (& all others interested)

Although very late notice, some information on tomorrow's (Sunday) cruise might be appropriate.

Sunday 18th January - Cruise & Observation Trial.
Meet at 1:00 pm at Hope Valley Court Shops, 1271 Grand Junction Road.
Bring chairs, pen/pencil, and a SENSE OF HUMOUR (with wives/girlfriends as navigators and no self respecting bloke asking for directions, it should get very interesting!!)

After what should be a great day, we are booked for dinner at the OLD SPOT HOTEL, Main St Gawler at 6:00 pm.

All new or prospective club members are welcome to join us (no obligation) - bring the family...kids especially welcome. If anyone requires further information, please contact (De Prez) Brett on 0412 404 968.

See you all there. :bsr:

Observation Trial Sun 18th Jan

Hi all,

Well the cruise last Sunday was terrific with a reasonable turnout of some very nice machinery including the Cosworth Sierra Turbo, the Herrod XR8, along with a good dose of XR6Turbos's, XR8's, T-Series & a couple of GT-P's.

The trial was brilliant with Brett & Louise laying a fantastic route of hills roads and sweeping bends with all eyes needeing to be ever watchful for the answers to the sometimes tricky questions posed by our organisers.

All but 2 cars completed the trial with nearly all question answered (occasionally correctly.) One car failed to complete in the time available, and only one opened the dreaded "I give Up" envelope. This couple, (who shall remain un-named but who's initials are Rob & Lori) were quite rightly awarded the "Golden Turkey" trophy. (and they're still married despite the event).
Ash & Lori were declared the "winners", with Tez & Chris "1st runners-up".

The convoy ended up back at the nominated Hotel in Gawler for a pre-arranged meal hosted by our club members and Hotel owners John, Helen & Marie. As usual, we were well looked after, the food was excellent and there was plenty of it. And, as usual, the company was excellent.

And once again, another full day followed by a late night.

Again, thanks to Brett & Louise for a great day and a terrific cruise, and to the participating members/friends for making the day such an enjoyable way to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Any other comments?

Thankyou to all who made last Sunday's Super Cruise & Observation Trial a success. Congratulations again to the trophy winners whom BJ has mentioned earlier, and thankyou to John Cooper & The Old Spot Hotel in Gawler for donating a rare collectors edition of Bacardi Reserva Superior Rum.
I can't wait for the next Cruise in 8 days time. Somehow I think in 2004 we'll top 2003's 22 cruises for the year.
A great night had by all at the RAAF base Sergeant's Mess last night whilst crossing the 'T's for the FPV week away. Expensive cars, cheap drinks, hip hip hooray. How's that Chilli burn Bob (FPVGTP1).
