im just wondering if any of you guys would have any idea on what sort of tranny i got.
it behind a 302w in a XW
i dont think it is the original because none off the column shift linkages really line up and its real sloppy.
i am planning on getting a shift kit for it very soon and wanna find out what it is b4 buying the wrong kit.
All i know about it is its painted a light green, it doesnt have a kickdown cable and i cant find a mount for it on the tranny anywhere(vacuum kickdown???).
does it have a id tag located under all the dirt and grime???

It's most likely a c4..It should have 11 pan bolts .The kickdown shaft is in the centre of where the shift linkage is...If there is an I.D tag it will be bolted to the servo cover on the drivers side..There are several different models of c4 so you will have to get the correct shift kit for the year..
Also there is a couple little cast discs above the shift linkage on the case which has the month and year of manufacture.
