Exhaust Problem '92 Taurus
Here's the story...I have a 1992 Taurus wagon 3.0L I paid $1200 for it two years ago, it had 92Kmi when 'new' and now has 147K. In the winter it would run rough (and stall) until warm but then it would be fine. It seems to have cooked it's exhaust system (including Cat), is running rich and smelling of oil from the pcv valve.
The question is: is it worth replacing the cat and exhaust (est. cost $300), would it need an O2 sensor and or other stuff?. I really like this car, it drives great, gets good mpg and the parts are inexpensive, engine runs great and the tranny doesn't slip...but at this mileage ...
.. Would appreciate any info/ideas you might have...thanks!
