I thought all 86 and newer Bonco's had independent front suspension. I was just wondering why my Bronco has Dana 44 solid axles under both ends.

Thanks, Chris

Previous owner had the vehicle since Oct. 88

And he said that it came from Ford with front and rear solid axles with 4.11 gears and positrac diffs in both. It just seems very strange to me as I am sure it does to you guys as well.

Sorry, I am new to the Bronco world. My front axle is a Dana 44, but my rear is a Ford 8.8 instead of a Dana 44 as stated earlier. Sorry, but I had not really looked at the rear axle when I posted earlier. Also how much different is getting parts for a suspension lift going to be since I do not have the independent front suspension? Do I still use the same lift coils? Thanks for any info.
