I have a set of 1966 289 heads that have been ported, polished, o-ringed, with screw in studs, poly-locks and comp. eng. valve springs and Chevy valves. I traded a T-5 for them, they were never installed on a car. Will they work on my 86 gt, and can I use my same pushrods? What about rocker arms?Any ideas would help. Thanks :wnc:

Not legally. 1986's had air passages cored into the head casting, 1966 heads are pre EPA laws. No way to install the required smog equipment from the 86. If your car has computer assited smog equipment/devices you simply can not use the heads without major mods to the computer.

The change in compression ratio alone would cause the electronic sensors to shut down the engine.
