do any of you out there have experience with XB dash lights?
i have installed Secong hand speedo / tacho into dash and the dash lights do not work (they didnt work before either) does any one know which wire in the loom you can test to see if there is power to the printed curcuit panel???
or is it the light switch / fuse - the interior light does come on when you turn the dash light dimmer control


i would also like to post photos of my coupe on this site but cant figure out how too -

I would be checking the dimmer switch first see if power is coming out,looking at the wiring diagram i have power at lights is blue/black trace.

i see that you have got your coupe into the gallery....to get it onto the main body of the thread ( message area )......... you can click on your photo in the gallery to get the full size pic.....then right click on the pic..... a list should come up and at the bottom it will say " properties "....click on this and another box opens with the details of the photo..........it has a address .. http://gallery***********jpg .....
write down this address ...go back to your message and click on the insert image button at the top of message box......type your address in there and it should work.

I replaced the top guages on my Coupe and replced the facia. Had no dash lights ever since. I rareley drive it night so haven't bothered pulling eveything out again!

Will have to work it out one day!

351c @400hp, replica GT - 2pak yellow blaze - fMX high stall, has been done very well - about 5th owner have most of its history, drives like new (forgotton how good they were 20 years since last one) needs minor rust repair - mechanicals 99% - have reciepts for $9500. paid $10,000 - main thing wife likes it!!! going to bathurst over weekend (only 1 1/2 hours from hear)
all in all couldnt be happier with coupe!!

I'll put my money on the dimmer switch. You can bridge them so you can't dim the lights. They are either on or off. Had to do this in my old XB. The new XB's dimmer switch works. For how long I don't know. They commonly burn out.

From memory the wires brown with a green trace? Hold that thought as I'll go check for you in 5-10 minutes
