Check the under bonnet vacuum hoses are connected, there are two black and one green, green goes t the heater tap/va;ve, one back goes to vacuum connection "cone" at the bacj of the MPFI manifold, the other black coonnects to a black rubber hose which in turn, connects to another vacuum connector cone located near the thermostat housing

 

If you mean the face & floor vents are not working , they are operated by vacuum through the mode switch. You might have a leak or a faulty switch. Listen for a hissing sound from the HVAC controls when the engine is running which would indicate a leak.

 

hey, my 91 eb doesnt heat at all, ive tried all the modes and that, but i never get the car heated. and the actual heater fan makes really bad noises like something is stuck inside of it. it still works, but every few seconds it makes a noise like it is grinding against something, its pretty noisy. ive been told its an 8 hour job to have a look inside the heater box as the whole dash has to be taken apart. whats wrong with the heater?

 

could it be leaves rubbing on the fan, have a look up the intake on the passenger side, thats what was in my fan.

CROWBAR If you remove the glove box select recirc on the heater control you gan get your hand inside the fan & feel inside the fan for leaves or paper that have been sucked in by the fan.

I have the exact same problem on my EA. Its stuck on the window demister and i cant get the other vents working.

Yeah my EA has done the same thing several times.

Carefull placement of the vacuum pipe near the firewall passenger side makes it stay longer.

Tho its easily bumped if i reach my hand down to check the aircon water outlet, or remove the plug for the ICS when adjusting base idle.

I now remember to check it after doing any work near there just incase

 

I got mine working, there was nothing wrong i just didnt know how to use it.
For some reason you cant go from the demist setting to anything else, you have to turn it off first before u can use any of the other settings.

 

eskyboi, I used insulation tape to join the tubes, i had the same drama of it falling off
