I had an overheating problem on my '99 (now 96,000 miles) and had my mechanic replace the thermostat last week. The problem is better, but still not totally fixed. They tell me that my radiator has lots of debris and junk in it, which could cause the car temp to rise, especially when idling. They also told me that my bad heater core is the cause of my not getting any heat (in the car).
Anyway, just yesterday, the temp was going up again and now I have the Service Engine Soon light on. It is staying on. Could this be related to my problem? Thanks.
