Wondering if anyone had a similar problem or maybe its normal shift strategy but it doesn't seem right. 2020 Ford transit 350 All Wheel Drive Cut away with aluminum utility body.
So here's what i got, if i accelerate moderately on high way or on ramp getting up to speed it will shift up to 10th gear, if i come up to a hill and or step on it to pass someone it will downshift to 8th but then it will stay in 8th gear forever, unless i slow down to 62 MPH then it will shift to 9th and 10th and as long as i baby it, it will stay there. but again if i step on it and it kicks down to 8th it will never upshift as long as im above 62 MPH, even if i take my foot off the gas going down hill it still wont upshift so i have to put it in manual and go up to 10th otherwise im doing 3,000+ RPM on highly in 8th for the duration of my highway time.
Dealer had it for 5 weeks and replaced some seals and a bushing in tranny, got it back and it will still the same they took it back for 2 days and then told me to come get it, they said its just the shift strategy programmed by ford and noting they can do.
Dosent seem right to me and wondering if anyone one else has noticed this with there transit and it truley is normal, but ive never seen a vehicle not upshift to save rpm and fuel exp with no load going down hill and seeing how it upshifts anytime below 62 MPH i feel like there is a glitch in the computer or programing???
