knowing nothing about ED's im wondering if there are any bolts with star pattern screw heads on them at the end of each rail holding them to the floor??
i know some of the later falcons are like that
obviously there arent cos they would be obvious to you when looking at them that they are whats holding them down

 

Are you talking about the rails on the seat or the runners mounted to the floor of the car


I know the floor ones can be removed quite easy as the passenger side on my car has been modded for more leg room and seat when fully back rests against back seat. As for the seat rails i dont know as i havent ripped them off personally and dont have a gregorys or haynes yet as im sure they would say how to get em off

 

ef ones come apart.. need a special alen type star key i think or normal alen key will do..

 

Yeah, I've got the appropriate tools to remove the seats from the car, but unfortunately the slide rails appear to be rather permanently attached to the base of the seats (the seat side, not the floorpan) so I'll need to speak to the good people at SAAS about picking up some complete brackets from them. Ah well, It was an education at least

 

From memory there's some big-bastard steel rivets holding it all together. Also, aren't the seat belt receivers attached rather permanently to the seat frame, where are you going to mount them on a one-size-fits-all SAAS frame?

 

Neh, seat belts bolt off, but you're spot on with the steel rivets along the rails

 

There are only two bolts that hold the sliding rail to the seat. They are easy to remove, but hard to find. My ED XR8 seats are also out, and I am replacing the rails at the moment because one of them is stuffed. If you need pics of the rails removed, email me at gjasiunas@aol.com
