I just bought one of these fine vehicles used and that has to be the most annoying thing ever while having the door open and the chime does not stop. Even my Dodge truck seat belt warning wasnt that bad. Anyways, is there an ignition trick or step by step to disable the warning or what fuse would kill it (and what else would I loose if I pulled it) Any help would be appreciated to forum newbie.

Thanks guys

Came across this , not sure if it applies to your model / year or if it affects more than " door open " warning .

" Warning Chime"

Removal and Installation

The warning chime module is mounted on a bracket to the RH side of the steering column, on the instrument panel reinforcement.

The module is #10 in this picture.

Logan, doesn't apply to 96-2007 Taurus/Sable. Warning chime is part of the GEM.

Turn the ignition to thr run position. Using a small screwdriver/pick push up into the hole under the ignition kry/cylinder. At the =same time pull to remove the cylinder. When it slides out simply remove the orange plastic piece with a couple metal pieces attached. Toss it and slide cylinder back in.. All shoud be good. Kevin
