I am looking at buying a 97 F250 with a 351. Would like to get a 7.3 gas and a 10 speed for it but not sure how the gauge situation would work. I know mounting and driveline would be different but really wondering how to go about making the wiring and gauges work. Any input is appreciated!

You will need a stand alone PCM for the engine and transmission (check Ford Performance Parts). That PCM will probably not "talk" (interface) to your truck's CAN bus, so your gauges will not work. Aftermarket gauges might be an alternative. The Hot Rod aftermarket has been working on this, as it is a major hang up with engine swaps, so there might be an aftermarket solution that I am not aware of. This engine/trans combo will make a nice swap. I have a 7.3/10 speed in a newer truck and it is very impressive! Good luck!
