Hey, how's it going. I got my ford escape hybrid at 122000 miles, was getting similar gas mileage. In my case, the great culprit was the thermostat; it was open. Regardless, if i were you change the thermostat, water pump, and air intake maintenance, meaning changing the air filter, cleaning the MAF and throttle body, and (perhaps most importantly) the rear air filter that goes to the battery, and you should see a great change. I now get around 28 or 29, in somewhat rough city conditions with steep hills and constant stops. Also consider doing a battery "rebalance" utilizing forscan, its a cheap ob2 scanner and the software is free. You'll also see a good change if you change your spark plugs, and if you do a great ac vacuum, cleanup, and refill, as the hybrid battery will be getting colder air, meaning it'll cool down quicker and thus, have better conditions to turn on.
