I am a 17 year old who got this car as a hand me down from my step-dad and when i got it i noticed that the mileage said 10.4 mpg which i already thought was unusual but slowly but sure the mileage has been dropping. I have not been driving crazy been driving the same way i have been since i got it 5 months ago and now the mileage is 9.8 mpg. Is there anything i can do?

Check / replace plugs , air filter if needed . All depends on driving routine and conditions which can affect MPG .Only a small drop in original MPG you were getting which may be due to colder weather coming in and taking longer to warm . Short , stop / start trips will hammer fuel figures

Are you just looking at that dashboard readout? If YES, I would suggest filling it up, run till near empty, and calculate the mpg with the next fill up. And during that time keep track of what type of driving you are doing. Dave
