High Rev 5.0 problem

92 F150, 5.0 EFI -
The engine has a high RPM and idle. A local mechanic told me to replace the idle air control, (IAC). - No good. It made no difference, ($60.00 later!!)

There are no linkages to adjust / lube.

My Chiltons manual doesn't mention the problem.

Do any of you have any ideas?

It idles fine with the IAC disconnected.

I found that I can check the resistance of the IAC to determine if it is good.

The old and the new one both ohm out around 10 ohms - withing the 7-13 ohm range suggested by Chiltons manual.

Any other ideas?
