What spark plugs will give the best performance for a AUXR8?

I think I'm getting them for around the $120 but I havent spoken to my mate again since Friday so i am unsure if they are the Denso Iridium Power plugs (20,000km lifespan) or the Denso Iridium long life (160,000kms)

If they sound like some thing you'd be interested in for that price Tom let me know. I'll tell you what i think of them Tomorrow arvo if they come in on time...

YES please! I am looking at that sort of price for the set of NGK's. A pic of the plug would be great if you got your digital camera handy?!?!

Thanks Mate

Will do :hy:

Also whilst we are on the subject of spark. Is there any benifit to be had from ditching the stock coil packs and replacing them for MSD packs

I wouldn't worry about moving away from the standard coil packs... not unless you are going to stroke it.

Yep, I actually picked up the NGKs for $12 each through a relative in the auto parts game. As a comparison the cheapest I could find retail in Brissy was the $19.30... just goes to show how much it can pay to shop around or have good contacts.

ay guys in relation to plugs i have a set of efi unleaded heads of unknown origin with a very deep threaded section compaired to my old heads and every shop i go to tells me "na mate must be these ones"handing me an older short thread type plug...can someone please give me a part # to go with?do you guys have these plugs?what heads are they?thanks :fraz:

Ok final price I got for the Denso plugs was $147 inc GST (8 plugs) Probally less if anyone was interested in a bulk order.

They arent the Long life denso either he ordered in the Denso Iridium power plugs. They made quite a noticeable difference in the high - mid rpm and it feels more crisp over all as well.

Now on a side note We all know the factory Xr8 leads are crap. Well guess what so are the plugs. Ment to last 150,000kms Mine came out at 94,000kms and they are fkd.

There are pics below but arent real good as i had to use my crap phone camera and some one forgot to charge the digi cam last night :fraz:

tiny bit o/t....i used denso iridiums on my EB 6cyl, apparently these are standard equipment on AU sixes and last 100.000kms. $15 each. i definitly agree with the fact of how much smoother they make a car, it also has a noticable diffenence over the rev range mainly in the mid range. i would also say fuel economy has also improved... yep definitly value for money!
