how easy would it be to swap two AU bootlids? neither would have a spoiler with LED.

basically, would there be any difficulties with the boot-opening mechanism etc.

any advice would be appreciated.

bout as easy as it is to swap a tyre i would think.
the boot lid bolts onto the "boot-opening mechanism" so you dont need to touch that, apart from the bolts of course.

is there a new fad happening, like swapping your phone facia daily, do people now swap there boot lids to the colour of there daily mood?

hehe

nah, i have a little bootlid spoiler and i want it gone. now, if i remove it i'll have the glue to deal with and two holes from the screws. i figure, it would be easier to find a spoilerless bootlid in the same colour and just swap them.

I think you'll find it'll take forever to get the margins right, but probably easier than trying to take off the old spoiler.

Is the spoiler glued on or double sided tape, if its tape then you may find Wax and Grease remover will break it down, making it easier to get off...still leaves the holes but

Nick, undo four bolts, and your bootlid is off. However, it's not a simple case of bolting the other boot straight on. You'll need to adjust the position of the bootlid on the arms before tightening the bolts to ensure your boot closes properly, and sits right.

A friend of mine had to get a new bonnet for a new SS commodore ute and the bonnet came already painted to the colour of the car.Maybe FORD do this too,and you could order a new bootlid ready to go in your matching colour..just a thought..
