Just wanting to know whether anybody would know the horsepower/torque rating on the T5 gearbox used in the E series Falcon's. Particularly EA-B. I know this will also depend on general wear and tear but the maximum for a gearbox in it's best condition will do?

Thanks All

mal wood automotive can rebuild yours to a combination of XR6T and XR8 spec for about 2k (less with trade) and they reckon that will cope with 200-220rwkw. so if you drive nice it could cope with a little more...dunno what the stock ones cope with.

my box is original and has been flogged bloody hard with 197hp at the treads and its still going strong.

It's surprising how some take alot and others take none. It has "apparently" been rebuilt with straight cut gears, but I wanted to try and get standard HP rating. At the moment I am running about 350HP at the rears (twin turbo setup) and was trying to find out how much further I could go, probably not much further. Obviously the gearbox is a big weak link.

Sorry Rollin, in the link provided, not your info. The years of production, and more importantly the correlation between ratios, ratings and the meaning of the term "World Class". Not really relevant in Aus anyway, as XF/EA box, EB-EF XR6 and EL/AU XR6 boxes are all cut in Australia, and so don't appear on the US listings.
